Visitor

There was a young dove that let me enjoy its company today, while I was carving out my place in the paper caves.

It looked me over a few times to be sure that I was not going to do anything harmful.

Then it walked over to the other side of the railing on the deck, made itself comfy on the corner and went to sleep.

We spent over an hour together, in peaceful meditation.

  1. Awwwwww....the peaceful sleep of a dove. At my house they just come and eat and then nest in some totally inappropriate spot so I can watch the kids grow, but I will have to water something carefully while they are being tended by Momma, who will step aside for me! They are so pretty and the pics are just perfect. I love your photography. ♥

    1. Oh, what a sweet tale Jo. I have not watched the babies from their nesting places, but that would be grand too! We do have families of quail that I get to see when they are itty bitty babies though. :-)

Thank you for enjoying them with me!

  3. Aw, I love these little guys. One spring we had a determined dove build and rebuild and rebuild his nest in the well of Rob's windshield. I know how much Rob hated to relocate the little guy, but man was he determined.

    1. Oh, I can see how that might be problematic for him. I wonder why they decided that it was THE place to build a nest. They are so sweet!

    1. They surprise me too sometimes. This one stayed close for over an hour! I love it when they treat me like part of their natural surroundings though.
