Feathers of Fluff

One Mother's Day morning I happened upon a gaggle of goslings who were just old enough to be venturing out on their own.

It was hard to tell which of the larger geese were the "Momma's" but it felt like a but of fluffy Mother's Day magick to me.

Tybee Island, Georgia

Tybee Island is a little slice of paradise on the Georgia coastline. Settled just past the corridor of long, sweeping, moss covered trees that line the streets of Savannah, is a small place with strip style dining just off of the beach, tourist attraction trinket shops, and the magick that is Tybee Island.


I have a fondness for the sound of the ocean waves lapping at the sun baked shores. I also treasure times spent on the back porch swing, so you can imagine my enthusiasm for a place where I could indulge in both. It was like a quiet symphony played out on natures breath.

It was a long drive from where we started, which meant that we did not have many hours of daylight to enjoy before the gloaming sky surrounded us. We indulged in some tasty local cuisine, at one of the strip eateries along the beachfront. Then we walked along the shores, played along the sandy waters edge, and gazed at the lighthouse as the sun faded into night. I'm glad I got some photos while I was there, it may be a long while before I am close enough to see Tybee Island again.
